Our datacentre / network

 

Datacentre:

All of our equipment is based in iomart's Tier III Maidenhead facility, Spectrum House.

Spectrum House is a purpose built 14,000ft² facility conveniently located in the Thames 'Silicon Valley' in Maidenhead, Berkshire, United Kingdom. This leading UK datacentre facility provides us with redundant cooling, redundant power, fire supression systems, security and high quality redundant connectivity for equipment.

We lease full 42U racks and install and manage our own Servers, Switching Equipment and Power Distribution Units (PDU's).

Network:

 

We use the high quality iomart network (AS20860), an all Cisco powered BGP4 network with over 98,000mbit/s of external conenctivity. In addition to multiple Tier-1 carriers, the network terminates in each of iomart's UK datacentres which include London, Maidenhead, Nottingham, Leicester and Glasgow.

At the core of the network are a pair of Cisco Catalyst 6500 routers, and in each rack we use a Cisco Catalyst 3750 edge switch providing connectivity to each server. Our
edge switches have two Gigabit uplinks, one to each Router in a HSRP failover configuration. This means if one uplink goes down e.g. one router crashes, our server's network connection will continue uninterrupted.
